Join our team that delivers care with Meraki! The Director of Rehab (DOR) is responsible for the overall daily rehabilitation operations in a specified facility and/or geographical area.
This includes but is not limited to:
staffing, training, and administrative oversight of all the therapy personnel assigned to work in that particular area.
Also, the DOR is responsible for the overall delivery of therapeutic services including:
program development, integration and delivery, and documentation and denials management; this includes active participation in patient treatments.
The DOR establishes a culture for the team that promotes the care that is in the best interest of the patient, in conjunction with the goals of the patient's family.
He/She is responsible for assisting with internal marketing and external marketing of assigned facilities, and may assist with company business development.
The DOR is the key representative in the facility and/or geographical area where assigned.
Example of
Responsibilities:
Overall supervision and guidance of the rehab personnel within the facility.
Participates in the development of quality interdisciplinary treatment programs that meet the needs of the residents.
Provides direction to therapy personnel in the implementation of treatment programs with on-going reviews to ensure consistency and effectiveness within regulatory guidelines.
Attends and participates in rehabilitation and operation meetings as assigned.
Coordinates recruiting and staffing needs of the facility with the Administrator, Director of Staff Development, and Rehab Resource Consultant.
Assures timely and competent follow-up of denials management in each facility assigned.
Resolution of staff issues with the assistance of the Administrator, Rehab Resource Consultant and Human Resource Consultant, as needed.
Assists in identifying supplies and equipment needed for personnel to provide effective services in a cost-effective manner.
Together with the Rehab Resource Consultant, identifies and secures training for all rehabilitation personnel in the facility.
Assures appropriate staffing ratios to meet productivity guidelines of the company Monitoring of service logs along with productivity to ensure accurate and compliant billing practices Actively participates in the annual review of the employees in the facility as well as disciplinary actions of the employees as warranted.
Actively participates in community activities to promote awareness of therapy, professional organizations such as state therapy associations and state healthcare associations for marketing and company promotion purposes.
Provides constructive recommendations to Rehab Resource Consultant, where applicable, regarding opportunities to improve company policies and procedures and services provided.
Promotes a positive attitude to staff, within staff, and to community regarding the company, its mission statement, philosophies, and goals.
Identifies own areas of need for development, training and continuing education in conjunction with Administrator and Rehab Resource Consultant.
Experience & Education Graduate of an approved curriculum in Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy and/or Speech Language Pathology.
Is able to practice unencumbered.
Is in good standing with all regulatory agencies and licensing boards.
Possesses a minimum of three (3) years of clinical experience as a therapist.
Working knowledge of Medicare and other payor sources.
Full knowledge of resident's rights.
Exudes professionalism in presentation.
Able to work on multitasks at the same time.
Must be able to read, write, speak, understand and communicate in the English language.
